Who we are
The Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre was established to address the colonial legacy of residential schools and other harmful policies imposed upon Indigenous peoples by the Canadian government, and to ensure the history of residential schools is acknowledged, examined and understood within the UBC community. The team and staff at the IRSHDC are dedicated to facilitating these dialogues and addressing the legacies of the residential school system by providing spaces and services that are Survivor-centered.
The IRSHDC has developed meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities and peoples to support its work and implement its mission and vision both on and off campus.
