Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS)
The Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) is a provincial organization that provides essential services to Indian Residential School Survivors, their families, and those dealing with Intergenerational traumas associated with residential schools. This includes assistance with counseling, court support, referrals, workshops, and more. The IRSSS advocates for justice and healing through culturally-based values and guiding principles.
Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT)
UBC’s Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) provides transformative educational services to the UBC community. CTLT focuses on professional development in teaching and learning, integration of technology into teaching and learning, development and delivery of distance education courses and programs. It delivers technology-enhanced learning opportunities and scholarly approaches to curriculum and pedagogy through the Institute for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISoTL).
Logic and Form
Logic and Form is the interactive division of Slant, a Vancouver-based design firm. Logic and Form invents, designs, and builds interactive, immersive technology experiences. Their work was recognized at the 2019 Vancouver User Experience Awards where they received both the People’s Choice Award and the UX For Good Award.
UBC School of Information (UBC iSchool)
UBC School of Information (UBC iSchool) is an internationally ranked, multi-disciplinary school that offers one-of-a-kind graduate programs. As one of the only schools in North America offering a stand-alone archival program, it is ranked first in Canada and fourth in the world for graduate education in library and information management. Students are provided with a range of career pathways to choose from, including the First Nations Curriculum Concentration which focuses on Indigenous perspectives.
Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs (UBCIC) Library and Archives
The Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs (UBCIC) Library and Archives is a specialized research library focusing on BC land rights research. Located in Vancouver, they serve all researchers who have a Band Council Resolution (BCR) to conduct research on behalf of a First Nation.
Vancouver Holocaust Centre Society
The Vancouver Holocaust Centre Society was founded in 1983 by survivors of the Holocaust, and aims to leave a permanent legacy in the form of the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre (VHEC) which is devoted to Holocaust-based anti-racism education. The VHEC’s mission is to promote human rights, social justice and genocide awareness through education and remembrance of the Holocaust. The VHEC produces thematic exhibits, school programs, teaching materials, online exhibits and has a museum collection, library and resource centre.
Vancouver School of Theology’s Indigenous Studies Program (ISP)
Vancouver School of Theology’s Indigenous Studies Program (ISP) aims to continue working towards healing and reconciliation as envisioned by the Elders of the program. The H. R. McMillan Library at Vancouver School of Theology also contains resources for students to learn from Indigenous Theologians on how to hold both an Indigenous identity and Christian faith. The ISP is committed to responding to the Indigenous Church, and creating a space where Indigenous Peoples can be who they were created to be while healing themselves and their surroundings.
