The Centre is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19. Staff will be returning to the building in a phased approach beginning November 1, however, the building is still closed to the public. The Centre is working with the University to ensure the health of everyone in the community, including staff.

Life at the Centre during COVID

While the Centre is closed, please visit irshdc.ubc.ca for updates, or contact irshdc.info@ubc.ca for assistance. Staff are available for remote reference and research consultations and virtual appointments.

Health and safety

The Centre follows all guidance from health authorities and UBC to provide a healthy, safe and supportive environment. This includes:

• Enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of spaces
• Signage throughout the buildings to maintain physical distances
• Maximum occupancy signage for offices and meeting rooms
• Communal spaces restricted to ensure proper physical distancing
