Indian Hospitals Settlement Agreement

Former patients of Indian hospitals are seeking financial compensation and a formal acknowledgement of the government’s negligence in the operation of the hospitals. On January 25, 2018, former patients of Indian hospitals filed a $1.1-billion class-action lawsuit against the federal government.

The claim includes three Indian hospitals in British Columbia, as well as 26 other hospitals across Canada. The three hospitals located in British Columbia are Coqualeetza (Sardis), Miler Bay (Prince Rupert) and Nanaimo.

Anyone who was admitted to one of the 29 hospitals that are listed in the Statement of Claim is encouraged to contact Koskie Minsky LLP. There is no need to sign-up to be part of the class-action lawsuit, and any class member may choose to opt-out if they wish to pursue independent legal action.

If you believe you may be a class member, please contact Koskie Minsky LLP at 1-866-777-6308 or email indianhospitalsclassaction@kmlaw.ca for more information.
