Survivors of Day Schools are eligible to join the Day School Settlement Agreement and seek compensation for the abuse, harm and trauma that was inflicted upon them by government-funded day schools. For more background information on the Settlement Agreement, visit https://indiandayschools.com/en/.

The Day School Settlement Agreement is open to those Survivors who attended any one of the Indian day schools listed in Schedule K. If you attended one of these schools, you may submit a claim to be part of the class action by filling out and submitting the Claims Form.

You must submit your claim before July 13, 2022.

You have three options for submitting your Claims Form and joining this class action. You may choose to submit your claim using one of the following formats:

Mental Health and Wellness Supports for Submitting a Claim

Submitting a Claims Form requires individuals to recall the abuse and harm that they experienced at day schools and the process may trigger negative mental, emotional, spiritual, or physical reactions. There is mental health counselling and crisis support available to class members through the Hope for Wellness Hotline at 1-855-242-3310 or online at www.hopeforwellness.ca.

Survivors will be offered support from an Administrator on submitting a claim. They will also be offered legal support and help filling out the Claims Form. Please contact the Federal Indian Day School Class Action for more information.
